Common Tinnitus Symptoms

Tinnitus is a perceived sound in the ears without the aid of an external auditory stimulus. Tinnitus is not actually a disease entity but a symptom of an underlying cause. The condition can either be caused by structural anomalies that produce collision in internal auditory organs, cerumen impaction, or even space occupying lesions and aneurysms or it may be caused by otological damage and degeneration.

Tinnitus symptoms can be sensed in one or both ears, or even in the head in cases of cranial bruits. They are most often described as ringing sounds. In some patients though, the symptoms are described as high-pitched buzzing or hissing noises, or even screaming sounds. It may also be a clicking, cracking, or roaring sound. Some also claim that they hear wind and the or sound of waves crashing on a shore.

Tinnitus symptoms can be either intermittent or continuous. The symptoms can also be aggravated depending on a person’s activity, like bending, sitting, or any movement that would likely cause an increase in intracranial pressure, especially in persons in which tumors or anuerysms are the cause of tinnitus. Intensity of tinnitus symptoms can also be affected by eye, jaw, and shoulder movements.

Many people with tinnitus symptoms also have hearing loss, which may be caused by structural damaged due to highly intense sounds or degenerativity. This may be a symptom of otological structural disorders and are neede to be further evaluated. The frequency of tinnitus symptoms they experience tend to mask sound in the environment with equal frequency.

Tinnitus may seem fairly harmless compared to some other ailments, but it can cause much stress to those who suffer from it, physiologically and psychologically – so much so, in fact, that it can lead to suicide. Thus, the symptoms of tinnitus must not be taken lightly as they can indicate a serious condition.

Of course, the best treatment for those who are not yet affected with tinnitus is preventive care. Avoid the causes to avoid the disease. However, for those who are already suffering from it, there is some very good news. A new type of tinnitus treatment has been developed and clinically proven to be successful with all known types of tinnitus. It involves a simple, but comprehensive, 5-step method that has helped thousands of men and women eliminate tinnitus completely within 8 weeks.
