Tinnitus Cure to Silence

Tinnitus or a ringing sound perceived by a person in the absence of an external auditory stimulus is not an illness but a symptom of various diseases. It may be caused by structural defects in the ears, ear infections, and obstructions in the ear canal. It may also be a degenerative symptom acquired by people as they grow old.

Tinnitus can greatly disturb a person’s daily activities and is quite common in persons aged 55 to 65 years old with a ratio of 1:55. Needless to say, with lengthening life expectancies in developed countries, medical consultations for this maddening condition are skyrocketing.

Tinnitus cure starts with diagnosis and physical assessment, usually with a concentration on possible structural problems within the auditory system itself. Later, assessments of brain function are done along with space analysis in order to uncover occupying lesions. Physicians also classify whether the tinnitus is subjective (ie. arising from otologic disorders) or objective (ie. actual sounds in which the source is internal). Objective tinnitus can be caused by muscle spasms in the auditory canal. It can also be caused by vasodilation as the bloodflow increases in the system. Tinnitus can also be caused by drug overdose or as a side effect of some drugs. This is termed ototoxocity.

Some tinnitus cures have already emerged. Until recently, however, most cases were considered permanent. Treatments range from invasive to drug treatments. In children, the most common cause of tinnitus is the obstruction caused by earwax plugs. Extraction of these plugs can be done in out-patient clinics.

A Swedish study suggests the use of lidocaine, which acts as a local anesthetic, as a temporary relief for subjective tinnitus. Benzodiazepines (diazepam) can also be given as muscle relaxants to cease spams in the auditory canal. In some countries, the use of low-pitched sound treatment has produced good results. In tinnitus caused by zinc deficiency, introduction of the micronutrient in diet and supplements along with other vitamins is highly praised by its practitioners.

Notched music therapy or auditive destimulation therapy utilizes an individual’s music preference to match the auditory frequencies of the perceived ringing. This targets neurologic etiologies for tinnitus. Furthermore, gamma knife radio technology is now used for many kinds of objective tinnitus, depending on the underlying cause. A neurostimulator may also be used as a tinnitus cure induced by neurologic causes.

Tinnitus cures can be somewhat complex depending on the underlying cause. As with other diseases, prevention of this condition is preferable to treatment, but it should be comforting for tinnitus sufferers to know that a new cure now exists that has been clinically proven to be successful with all known types of tinnitus. It involves a simple, but comprehensive, 5-step method that has helped thousands of men and women eliminate tinnitus completely within 8 weeks.
